Best Cat Litter For The Money

Here at CRR we go through A LOT of litter. I have tried many different brands all claiming to be the best. Here are several we have tested and how we liked them.
The World Best Cat Litter: It was actually pretty good litter I thought but not cost effective for as many cats as we have. I imagine if you just had a few it would be a good alternative to clay litters.

Arm & Hammer multi cat: We like this litter ok although its a little dusty and doesn't seem to last as long as others we have tried BUT its much cheaper. But with the heavy load we have in the boxes its my 3rd choice in litter.

Fresh Step: This is good clumping litter and we use the coupons to get more free litter. It is my second choice. It lasts a good while too but if it didn't have the codes I would use....

Tidy Cat: This litter is nice! It's got nice granules; not too dusty and clumps great. It lasts longer too than the other litters. AND its a little cheaper than Fresh Step. Definitely gets my vote for first choice for price and performance if you only have a few cats. With clumping litter it is such a pain to scrape it off the bottom of the litter box. It's like GLUE if you have multiple cats.

Laura Lynn is the off brand of clumping litter and I hate it but have had to use it in a pinch. Its very dusty and doesn't last nearly as long as any of the other litters although it is pretty cheap!

Dr. Elseys Cat litter is good but I can't really tell any difference in it and the say Fresh Step.

Horse Pine Pellets comes in FIRST on our list. I was told about this product for cat litter by a FB friend. It is the same as Feline Pine pellets but MUCH CHEAPER! This has saved us thousands of $$ on litter. If you run a rescue I would highly recommend it!
It takes some time to get used to and I was very skeptical at first. I loved the smell. Reminded me of my horse barn back when I had horses. You have to get used to taking out the poop which of course doesn't clump. The wet litter turns the pellets to saw dust which you can leave until it clumps up wet. Then I scoop it out too. Its fairly cheap being about 5 to 8$ for a 40 lb bag compared to say $10/12 for feline pine 20 lb bag. . It lasts a pretty good time and clean up is a breeze as well as keeping the tracking down pretty good. Its a good choice for out at the cat house. If you just had a few cats it would really last a long time. Its a little more inconvenient to go get as the store is 45 min from us but if we buy in quantity is more worth the trip and we'll be asking if they  give us a small discount if we get more at the Tractor Supply store.

So tell me your experiences with any good litter you think we might need to know about. I hope this helps some of you wishing to try something new.
