Our Adoption Process

Please read carefully before applying. After reading all our information, If you are not comfortable with our adoption process then there is no need to go further. It is a waste of all our time. Our first and foremost concern is our cats well being. We are not trying to be mean by asking for references or a home visit. We do not know you so we are just trying to verify your information for our cats safety. These cats are like family to us and we simply want to be sure they are going to a safe secure home. They have been through enough. We would hope as a concerned animal lover that you would respect and appreciate out adoption process.  For all the reasons above we only adopt to experienced adopters. Applying does not guarantee approval. That being said we hope you understand and hope to hear from you!

Thank you for considering a Cat Ranch Cat! Please read the information below FIRST and then fill our our Adoption Application .

A Cat Ranch Rescue cat will be a rescued cat  from the community. They may have been surrendered by their owners, found living outdoors, or by any other way a cat or kitten has found itself alone in the world and is in need of rescuing.

A Cat Ranch Rescue
cat will have been spayed or neutered, unless we have records or absolute proof that this has been done previously. They are tested negative for FIV/feline leukemia, given their first shots, de-wormed, and observed and treated by local veterinarians for any other conditions they may have. For an additional fee we can have your kitty microchipped.

They are socialized in a loving environment with other cats and plenty of humans.

All adoption applications will be reviewed by our staff to see if the applicants seem to be a good fit for an available cat.

We do require a vet reference and also 3 references that are not related to you. WIthout this your application will be denied. They will be called for verification purposes. CRR will then contact the interested party to set up a home visit. Only after a member of the CRR staff has visited the applicant’s home will they consider continuing with the adoption process. CRR does not generally adopt to homes with small children (7 yrs or under).

Once a home is considered safe for our cats, the applicant pays an adoption fee of $100 .

This fee covers the spaying/neutering and all vaccinations that ensure the cat lives a healthy and happy life with their new family.

No animal is adopted out unless it is already spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter at 6 months of age, therefore no cats under 6 months are for adoption.

Thank you for considering us and we look forward to hearing from you!
